MEET FORMAT: The meet will follow the dual meet format of events that are listed above under "Event List". A swimmers age will be determined as of November 15th for the entire dual meet season as well as the championship in March.

 

SITE: The Salem State College Competition Pool is an 8-lane, 25-yard pool with seven-foot-wide lanes and non-turbulent lane lines.  Fully automatic Colorado Time Systems with touch pads and full 8 lane electronic scoreboard display. Balcony spectator seating for 250 people with deck seating for 350 coaches and officials.  The pool is located inside the Salem State College O’Keefe Athletic Complex, 352 Lafayette Street, Salem MA 01930.  Directions may be found later in this document. 

 

COURSE: Short course yards (25 yards).

 

EVENTS : See attached list.

 

WARM-UPS: NSSC will warm up from 12:30pm-1:00pm and the visiting team will warm up from 1:00pm to 1:30pm. Meet will start at 1:30pm.

 

SAFETY:

  1. Diving will be prohibited during warm-ups except in specifically announced one-way sprint lanes. 
  2. No glass containers are permitted within the facility.
  3. Coaches and parents are responsible for their swimmers at all times.

 

RULES: 2004 USA Swimming rules will govern all competition.  Decisions by the meet referee will be final unless a written protest is lodged within 30 minutes of the heat swum.

 

DECK ACCESS: Only athletes, coaches, officials, and official meet staff are permitted on the pool deck. 

 

SCORING: Individual events: 5,3,1 and Relays: 10,6,2.

 

AWARDS: Ribbons for all events.

 

MISCELLANEOUS: North Shore Swim Club and Salem State College assumes no responsibility for lost or stolen property. 

 

PARKING: There is ample parking available in the parking lot adjacent to the Salem State College O’Keefe Athletic Complex.

 

DIRECTIONS: From 128N take Exit 25A toward Salem (114E).  Follow 114E through downtown Salem  onto Route 1A (Canal Street). Stay on Canal Street 1 1/2 miles, Salem State O'Keefe Center will be on left. Plenty of parking. Walk up ramp to complex entrance.
