SESSIONS

Start times may be changed once all entries have been received. Teams will be notified of exact times at least 1 week prior to meet.

SITE

The MIT Competition Pool at the Zesiger Center is an 8-lane, 50 meter pool with seven-foot-wide lanes and non-turbulent lane lines. Fully-automatic Colorado Time System touchpad’s and electronic display. Spectator seating for 450. The depth of the water at the start end is 7' and the turn end is 13'.

The competition course has been certified in accordance with 104.2.2C (4).Directions may be found later in this document. Failure to abide by rules defined in this notice, posted at the facility or determined by the Meet Referee or Meet Director may result in ejection from the facility.

COURSE

Long course meters (50 meters).

FORMAT

The meet will be swum as timed finals.  Each session will be seeded by computer based on positive check-in at the beginning of each session.  Coaches will receive a positive check-in sheet before each session, which must be returned no later than 30 minutes before the beginning of the session.  Heat sheets will be posted around the pool deck.  Copies of heat and lane assignments will be given to coaches. Swimmers should report directly to the blocks for their events.  Coaches are responsible for ensuring their swimmers are in the correct heat and lane.  There will be no bullpen.

All heats of the 800 Freestyles will be swum fastest to slowest, alternating girls and boys.  Girls and boys may be combined if that requires fewer heats. Swimmers ages 11 and Over will be separated after swimming for results and female and male heats may combined for efficiency if deemed necessary by meet management. The Meet Director reserves the right to swim 2 per lane in all Freestyle events if necessary. This decision will be provided to entering teams after the entry deadline.

CUT PROTOCOL:  If a session is over-subscribed, the following cuts will be made in this order:

·        Relays will be cut

·        Swimmers will be asked to cut down to 4 events **(see below)

·        Teams may be shifted to another site in order to evenly distribute the swimmers

·        swimmers will be cut from the top end

** Teams should send a hard copy of their entry (by athlete), with their payment. On the hard copy, the event to scratch, if necessary, should be circled in RED ink. This will be the event that the Entry Chair will scratch if over-subscribed.  If you fail to send in a hard copy, the Entry Chair will choose the event to cut based on times. If deck scratches allow a reasonable time-line, the swimmers can be reinstated into those previously entered events.

Clubs will be notified of cuts no later than Monday before the meet.

RESERVE THE RIGHT TO MAKE CHANGES: The meet referee reserves the right to make any adjustments to the provisions of the meet announcement deemed necessary to ensure the fair and efficient running of the meet, with the prior approval of the Technical Chair, Mariella Allard.

These include a lot at the corner of Massachusetts Avenue and Vassar Street, "Park and Lock" on Third Street, "Kinney Systems" at 4 Cambridge Center (entrances on Ames Street and Broadway), and "Kinney Systems" at Ten Cambridge Center (entrances from Broadway and Binney Street).
