MEET FORMAT: The meet will follow the dual meet format of events that are listed above under "Event List". A swimmers age will be determined as of November 15th for the entire dual meet season as well as the championship in March.

 

SITE: The Springfield JCC Pool is an 6-lane, 25-yard pool with seven-foot-wide lanes and non-turbulent lane lines.  Fully automatic Colorado Time Systems with touch pads and one lane electronic scoreboard display. Spectator seating for 200 people.  Diretions may be found later in this document. 

 

COURSE: Short course yards (25 yards).

 

EVENTS : See attached list.

 

WARM-UPS: NSSC will warm up from 12:00pm-12:30pm and the home team will warm up from 11:30pm to 12:00pm. Meet will start at 12:30pm. All NSSC swimmers should be checked in with the coaches no later than 11:45 AM.

 

SAFETY:

  1. Diving will be prohibited during warm-ups except in specifically announced one-way sprint lanes. 
  2. No glass containers are permitted within the facility.
  3. Coaches and parents are responsible for their swimmers at all times.

 

RULES: 2004 USA Swimming rules will govern all competition.  Decisions by the meet referee will be final unless a written protest is lodged within 30 minutes of the heat swum.

 

DECK ACCESS: Only athletes, coaches, officials, and official meet staff are permitted on the pool deck. 

 

SCORING: Individual events: 5,3,1 and Relays: 14,10,6.

 

AWARDS: Ribbons for all events.

 

MISCELLANEOUS: North Shore Swim Club and Springfield JCC assumes no responsibility for lost or stolen property. 

 

PARKING: There is ample parking available in the parking lot adjacent to the Springfield JCC.

From Mass Pike West take exit: Springfield #6. At lights turn left. Proceed on route 291. Following signs to Springfield- Hartford. You must watch for
Route 91 South which 291 will run into. On Route 91 South, you will go through city of Springfield, then exit at Longmeadow - Forest Park Exit 1.
Follow ramp bearing left. Go to 2nd Light on rte. 5 (Longmeadow St.) to converse St. and take left. Center is located 1 1/2 miles on left. Approx. 2
hours from Boston.
 

BUS TRANSPORTATION: will be offered providing the minimum number is reached by the Wednesday, December 1st deadline. If we do travel by bus the bus will leave the JCC of the North Shore entrance in Marblehead at 9:00 AM sharp. Swimmers will come first and parents filling available seats at a cost of $15.00 per person.
