North Shore Swim Club
Program Level Breakdown
2006-07
The following is a description of North Shore Swim Clubs programs levels. NSSC believes swimmers should have a comfortable and natural progression from one level to the next. The levels are in order of ability and age. However, every child is different and must be evaluated by the North Shore Swim Club coaching staff for a proper and positive experience. Please check practice schedules for specific dates and times for each program.
Pre-Team:
Any new swimmer that is ready for preteam ( 25 yards of freestyle/backstroke unassisted)but needing stroke refinement is welcome to join the preteam program until the facility coach believes the swimmer is ready for the Junior program! Once they are ready for the Junior program (twice a week for 60 minutes), swimmers will be expected to graduate from preteam to Junior. If the family chooses not to join preteam, NSSC will make available other lesson programs in the area.
Pre-Team classes meet once or twice per week for 30 minutes.
NSSC firmly
believes in it's stated practice requirements. We monitor all
swimmers to make sure they are not swimming excessively or
sporadically which will create a balance and allow for future
development.
